Some 24 firefighters gathered in Huson's Station 3 near Frenchtown to begin structural fire training on Saturday.
The recruits practiced offensive and defensive fire attack, pitch roof and flat roof training as well as second story searches.
The next three weekends will also include tasks to help prepare the firefighters. Then following the four weekends of training, the firefighters must complete a 70-page state book.
"We always need volunteers. Recruiting volunteers is a big thing today" said trainer Cindy Crittendon. "We are really low on rehab people, so if you live with in the Frenchtown Fire District and would like to volunteer, that would be great!"
