Updated:

Governor Brian Schweitzer has named a six-member committee to set the criteria for a $10 million veteran's home the state plans to build in southwestern Montana.

The committee includes a veteran from each county vying for the 100-bed long-term care facility and will accept and evaluate proposals.

The facility can be built in Madison, Jefferson, Beaverhead, Anaconda-Deer Lodge, Powell or Silver Bow county.

Members of the committee include Tom Straugh of Dillon, Bill Willing of Anaconda, Larry Lattin of Boulder, Willie Blazer of Ennis, Lyle Gillette of Deer Lodge and Robert Pavlovich of Butte.

The legislation authorizing the new home requires the community that gets the facility to donate the land.
