The 30th annual Art in The Park in Anaconda is underway this evening, drawing thousands of people to Washoe Park. The event features 75 juried art and craft booths, 19 food vendors and a fantastic line up of music.
You can still catch some of the action tonight with more to come on Saturday and Sunday.
Carol Jette, executive director of Copper Village Arts, said, "It kicks off at noon with White Hawk, a rock group, and then Genuine Article, another Anaconda band that's doing terrific. They're playing from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Our highlight for the evening is a country western band from Idaho State Line...Kelly Hughes...and he is marvelous."
On Sunday the park opens to the public at 11 a.m. with church music until 1 p.m. Later, the Everly Brothers' tribute band and Heartbreak & Harmony will take the stage. There is an admission charge as the annual event is a fundraiser for the Copper Village Museum and Art Center.
