A 64-year-old woman died after the ATV she was driving landed on top of her.
Troopers responded to the crash at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Sanders County about three miles south of Heron on Hugh Lillard Road, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
The woman left the road to go around a tree and when she tried to go back on the road, she lost control and rolled down a hill, that's when the ATV landed on top of her, Trooper Bryce Ford said.
The woman was not wearing a helmet, and she died at the scene, Ford said.
The woman's name is not being released at this time.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
