A crash on Interstate 90 just short of the Anaconda and Opportunity exit has claimed the life of an Anaconda woman.

Sergeant Art Collins of the Montana Highway Patrol said he was traveling just 20 to 30 seconds behind Carrie Ann Dahlman when she hit the left median on I-90 westbound at about 9:35 p.m. Saturday.

Dahlman had been ejected from her vehicle, and Collins said he found her lying on the highway in very bad shape. She was transported to St James Healthcare where she died on the operating table.

Officers say it is likely she was not wearing a seat belt.
