A part of Montana Avenue transformed into the concert site for thousands of fans at the eighth annual "Magic City Blues Festival.'
Crews set up the main stage and other parts of the venue Friday. Six bands will perform each night on two stages.
"Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials" headline Friday nights lineup and the band also performs Saturday night on the Stillwater stage. About 6,000 to 8,000 fans from all over the country and Canada will enjoy the blues festival.
"The fun thing about what we do is for a town of our size, the calliber of the music we put on the stage is really really good, as good if not better than anyone in the country. It's a fun place to do it downtown because the venue sets up well and the buildings give it some historic ambiance."
The Magic City Blues Festival starts at 6:00 p.m. on the Stillwater Stage, with three bands performing. Three other bands perform on the main stage starting at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday features a new lineup, with the same starting times.
The main entrance is at Montana Avenue and 25th street near the McCormick Cafe.
