HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) - A 55-year-old Victor man whom a prosecutor described as a "menace to society" has been sentenced to 75 years in prison without the possibility of parole for a string of arson fires at forest trailheads in the Bitterroot Valley.
Donnie Mack Sellers was sentenced Monday by District Judge Jeffrey Langton. Langton ordered the sentence be served consecutively to a 5-year term Sellers received earlier for felony drunken driving.
Sellers was found guilty in July of 5 counts of arson for setting fire to five vehicles parked at two trailheads in the Bitterroot National Forest in March 2007.
Deputy Ravalli County Attorney Bill Fulbright says Sellers has been convicted of setting house fires in Washington and Texas, kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl as well as burglary and drunken driving. He says three years is the longest time Sellers has not been incarcerated since his 21st birthday.
