Ravalli County officials passed its first open space bond conservation easement during a Tuesday morning meeting.
The county commissioners say they approved funding for the easement in January. The 264 acre Wood Family Conservation Easement sits off of Eastside Highway near Corvallis.
Commissioner Carlotta Grandstaff says the land has agricultural and open space values that area residents appreciate.
"This project here that we approved today set the standard for the process, so we now have a template for the subsequent conservation easements that come before us and hopefully those will go a little bit quicker."
Grandstaff added that they have other easement projects scheduled for review in the near future.
