Flathead County attorneys say a that a Lake County man who's charged with killing his father over Labor Day weekend last year is competent to stand trial.
Ross Johnson has been at the state hospital in Warm Springs and had psychological screening evaluations.
Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan says Johnson is competent to stand trial, but they still need another round of evaluations to see if he was psychotic at the time of the crime.
Court papers said Johnson was camping with his family, when he went into the woods north of Thompson Falls with his father, Roger Johnson.
Roger's body was found with a shotgun wound to the head. Investigators say Ross Johnson fled to his Polson home, and was arrested September 1st last year after a two-day standoff.
Johnson's trial date is set for October 26th, but the county attorney says it will probably be continued.
