Marcus Daly Hospital is one of the largest employers in Ravalli County and on Thursday hospital representatives spent the evening in Victor, telling residents about their mission and goals for the future.
The facility takes pride in the fact it has the lowest infection rate in the state and officials say in the hospital's annual report that they received more than a 90% satisfaction rating for both outpatient and emergency room care.
Marcus Daly recently completed a new Emergency Room that will house five physicians, there are 24/7 radiologists on staff, the hospital pumps $750,000 in wages back into the community, and also gives away $1,000,000 in charity health care each year.
Thursday night's forum was part of an effort launched so that hospital officials can better understand the public perception of the facility.
"The community needs to know that there is al lot of innovation and change going on at Marcus Daly" explained Kathy Sital who sits on the Community Advisory Council.
"Many community members aren't aware of the services that we offer, so it's education to them and (we) find out what the needs are that we aren't meeting" said Marcus Daly Assistant Administrator Troy Hanson.
Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital representatives told us that as they look ahead, they want to be the employer of choice in the Bitterroot Valley.
