A Ravalli County Sheriff Department's Sergeant who's accused of stealing thousands of rounds of ammunition from the department pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The Montana Attorney General's Office filed felony theft charges against Jeffrey Fowler for stealing over 40,000 rounds of ammunition.
Prosecutors say in court documents that Fowler sold the stolen ammunition to a number of people and businesses in the Bitterroot. The missing ammunition was discovered in May, when Ravalli Sheriff's Department personnel began questioning him about the missing ammo.
Several of those interviewed said Fowler sold the ammunition to them. If convicted, Fowler faces up to 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
