Fire officials say that the lightning caused fire burning near Frenchtown is now fully contained.
Frenchtown firefighters received reports that the Edith Creek fire was burning at about 11:30 Saturday morning.
Firefighters from Frenchtown, the U.S. Forest Service and the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation spent the day dropping buckets of water from a helicopter.
Public Affairs officer Boyd Hartwig says the fire it burned just more than two acres near the Roman Creek area.
He added 15 firefighters were on the fire Sunday, and some will remain on the fire overnight to be sure it doesn't flare up.

Firefighters were busy battling a wildland fire near Frenchtown in the Roman Creek area Saturday.
Frenchtown firefighters received a call about the blaze at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, firefighter Brennan Skrutrod said. The fire was first reported to have burned about a quarter of an acre.
Firefighters did not know what caused the blaze Saturday evening but said it is under investigation.
A helicopter is being used to drop water on the fire, and Frenchtown firefighters, the Forest Service and the DNRC are working to keep the fire from spreading.
