The pro-life campaign known as 40 Days For Life began its third annual movement today in Helena.
The event began with a kick-off march at 6:00 p.m., and participants marched from Memorial Park to the Helena Planned Parenthood location for a prayer rally.
Over the next 40 days, the pro-life community will fast, pray, and stand outside of Planned Parenthood.
Rose Casey, media coordinator of the event, said, "(This) is also a pro-lives movement. Because we are very much aware that we're not just trying to stop abortion but that there needs to be really good solutions for women in crisis."
In response, Stacey Anderson of Planned Parenthood said, "If these extremists were truly worried about preventing abortion, they would work with Planned Parenthood of Montana to support proven prevention strategies and not spend the majority of their energy on this intimidation tactic."
The 40 Days To Life campaign will reach more than 200 communities nationwide.
