Updated:

Governor Brian Schweitzer has issued a proclamation to have all flags on state property be flown at half-staff today.

The proclamation comes as part of a National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service to honor those firefighters across the country who have died in the line of duty.

The memorial service, which took place this weekend, is the 28th annual service nationally.

A plaque with over a hundred names of fallen firefighters from 2008 was added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Maryland, as well as the names of 19 fallen firefighters from previous years.
