Some people were without phone service and unable to reach emergency personnel in the Butte-Silver Bow Tuesday.

Some cell phone and general phone lines were down Tuesday afternoon, including emergency 911 lines in Butte-Silver Bow and possibly in Deer Lodge and Powell counties. 

As of news time, all phone service was back up. However, Butte-Silver Bow Police Lt. Ed Lester said it is unknown at this time what caused the disruption in phone service.

In the meantime, if you have any trouble getting through to police dispatch by dialing 911 please call 497-1120 instead.
