A number of parents and Crow Tribe members are demanding the resignation of Hardin School Superintendent Al Peterson.

During a school board meeting Tuesday night, a crowd of about 50 voiced their concerns saying that Peterson is making the Crow Tribe look bad in his roles as a board member of Two Rivers Authority, and Superintendent of Schools.

They told the board that Peterson's focus should be on the students. Board Chairman, Richard Imer says, the Crow people are also upset about a comment Peterson made regarding the character of Big Horn County Sheriff Lawrence "Pete" Big Hair. Many consider Peterson's comment an insult to the entire Crow Tribe.

Imer tells us Peterson is not resigning or retiring, and will not be fired.  He added that Peterson's comment about the sheriff does not warrant his removal.
