The Montana Board of Research and Commercialization Technology has awarded a total of $2.7 million in research grants to 20 projects in Montana including several in Butte.
A little more than $93,000 goes to Montana Tech for development of new tools for geothermal energy exploration. Montana Tech will also receive More than $90,000 for research to develop a marketable and cost effective device to remove mercury vapor from gas emitted from coal fired power plants. Close to $380,000 will go to Resodyn Corporation for the development of a field-portable sensing system that can test for the presence of pathogens.
Another $106,000 is earmarked for Montana Aerospace Development Association for development and testing. Finally, $118,900 will be used for commercial introduction of a barley protein concentrate at Montana Microbial Products in Butte.
