After a decade of gathering information, filming, and writing, "Butte America: the Saga of a Hard Rock Mining Town," is ready for audiences.
The film's Montana born producer and director, Pamela Roberts, says she created the film to educate Montanans about the value of Butte and the critical contribution it's made to Montana.
She says the film is a tribute not only to Butte miners and their families, but to miners and working class people all over the world.
Billings is the last stop on Butte America's fall tour. The film has been sold out at every showing since last January.
"This is really important to me because I am from Hardin," explains Roberts about why the Billings showing holds a special spot. "This is my family, this is my old stomping grounds, so to speak."
Saturday show times are at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10.00 a piece and can be bought at the Alberta Bair Theater.
"Butte America" will air next Tuesday night, October 20th, at 8:00 p.m. on the PBS series "Independent Lens."
