The Montana Highway Patrol reports that Kerina Rose, 44, of Stevensville was killed Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident west of Missoula.
The accident on Mullan Road and Deschamps Lane happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Officials with the Missoula Sheriff's Department tell us a woman driving a Subaru heading east on Mullan stopped for a dog crossing the street.
A man driving a Ford Ranger pickup tried to pass the Subaru and clipped the vehicle spinning into oncoming traffic. The Subaru was then hit head on by another Ford truck driven by a detention officer on his way home from work.
The woman in the Subaru was taken to St. Patrick Hospital where she died. A passenger in the Subaru as well as the Missoula Detention Center officer were also taken to St. Patrick Hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
The 73-year old driver of the pickup was not injured and MHP says he will face charges.

The driver of the pickup was not injured. It's unknown at this time the conditions of the people taken to the hospital.
