Baristas at a Missoula coffee kiosk chain have banded together to help a family in need.
Loose Caboose owner Malcolm Lowe says his staff members decided to set up donation boxes to help out the family of Conner Hiner-Zavarelli. \
The 7-month old infant died Sunday from bacterial meningitis, a secondary infection, which resulted from complications of having the flu.
In addition to accepting donations, some employees of the coffee kiosk chain even donated tips they received Friday to help pay for the family's medical and funeral expenses.
"The people are what make up this community. And, just being able to reach out and help someone really makes you feel special. And, I think everybody around just wants to help everybody," said Loose Caboose Manager, Stephanie Rixford.
A fund is also set up for anyone who would like to donate money to assist the family.
Donations for the Zavarelli Family fund can be sent to Montana First Credit Union;
C/O Conner Hiner-Zavarelli; 2330 South Reserve Street; Missoula, MT 59801.
People can also call (406) 728.1790 to find out more information on the family's situation.
