Would you like to Duct tape your boss to a post for a few hours? Employees of Herberger's at the Butte Plaza Mall had that dream came true Friday when they taped manager Tom Rolf to a pillar at the store entrance for two hours.
With bucket in hand, Rolf begged for United Way donations to earn his freedom.
"Each year we go through our United Way campaign. Last year, the associated won a contest for United Way through our company. So I challenged them to meet or exceed that again this year, which I felt was a safe bet because we have fewer associates, and unfortunately they made it happen. They came up with contests, they came up with bake sales, they came up with a book sale. They came up with a lot of different ways to make money in the store," Rolf said.
Rolf said that while he didn't love being taped to the pillar, people responded positively and made generous donations to the United Way.
