Habitat for Humanity Mid-Yellowstone Valley hit a big milestone on Saturday as the affiliate celebrated the groundbreaking of it's 50th home.
The group has been building houses in the Billings area since the early 1990's, and on Saturday a deserving family helped break ground for their new home.
Calvin and Jessica Gorman and their family will be the proud owners of the 50th home.
The first Habitat Mid-Yellowstone Valley house was completed back in 1993, and for the past 16 years the program has been giving families an affordable, safe home.
"It's heartfelt. The families we help, the children that we help, the children that are going to be able to live in safe, simple decent affordable stable housing. That's why we do it," explained Habitat for Humanity Mid-Yellowstone Valley Executive Director, Kathleen O'Neal.
Meanwhile, another family received their home from Habitat for Humanity Saturday.
Travis Bernhard and his four children will move into Mid-Yellowstone Valley Habitat for Humanity's 48th home.
Volunteers started working on the house in Lockwood on Father's Day.
ExxonMobil was the major sponsor of the home, while Jim McIntosh sponsored the lot.
The Christian-based Habitat for Humanity started in 1976 and since then has built 300,000 homes worldwide.
