The unofficial election results are in the races for five seats on the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Council.
The latest, unofficial, results show that in Arlee, Jim Malatare won with 366 votes; For the Elmo Seat, Rueben Mathias wins with 467 votes; In Polson, Steve Lozar won with 751 votes; For Ronan, Carole Depoe Lankford wins with 590 votes; and in St. Ignatius, Joe Durglo won with 420 votes.
The official results will be released Wednesday after absentee and contested ballots are counted.

There are 25 candidates vying for seats on the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe Council as all five positions on the council are up for re-election.
The polls were open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, with the top two primary vote getters in each of the five districts getting to go head-to-head in the general election on Dec 12th.
This year CSKT will post unofficial election results on Saturday evening on a pair of web sties. The Tribe's Rob McDonald says the Saturday results will not include Absentee and Contested ballots. The official results will be released Wednesday, once the Absentee and Contested ballots are added to the unofficial election results.
The results for both Saturday and Wednesday will be posted in two places, the official tribal site, www.cskt.org and the tribal newspaper site, www.charkoosta.com.
