A famous and wild Montana stallion returned to television on Sunday night with his very own program.
PBS premiered "Cloud: Challenge of the Stallions," which is filmed in the Pryor Mountains. The show is a tale of two stallions, Cloud and Shaman, who raise each other's sons. The colts grow into challengers and battle the very stallions who raised them.
Viewers will follow Cloud as he fights to win new mares and avoids being caught by government traps. Cloud has been documented since he was a foal and this is the third chapter of his life.
"They have quite interesting family dynamics and in this show you'll see drama really play out and things we never expect happen. It's as if someone wrote a Shakespearean novel and put it up there on the mountain with these horses. I don't think most people in Billings even realize the only wild horses in Montana are right in your backyard," Associate Producer MaKendra Silverman said.
She says the show was five years in the making and that the Cloud Foundation continues to support the preservation of wild horses in the Pryor Mountain Range.
