The Governor's Office of Community Service is adding to its team to help spread volunteerism throughout the state.
The State Commission on Community Service has elected a new Chairman in Chris Kolstad, a farmer from Chester, and a new Vice Chair, Kim Miske, a legal aide from Wibaux. The two will join 14 other members in leading the effort in community service in the state.
"The commissioners represent a cross section of Montana's community. It'd be surprising to some people to find out, that if it weren't for volunteerism, a whole lot of things would not get done," explained Great Falls Community Service Commissioner Bob Harris.
The commission, appointed by the Governor, oversees many service programs ranging from helping those in need prepare their homes for the winter to helping communities prepare for fire season in the summer.
