Unofficial election results are in for some Southwest Montana counties.
In Dillon, incumbent Mayor Marty Malesich came out the winner with 443 votes. He was followed by write-in candidate Mike Klakken with 390 votes and Tom Straugh with 317 votes.
In the races for city council, in Ward 1, Harvey Lake Jr., who was running unopposed received 333 votes. In Ward 2, Lynn Westad received 169 votes, narrowly edging out opponent Robert Castro who got 150 votes. In Ward 3, Tom Wagenknecht beat out Thomas Forseth, garnering 127 votes to Forseth's 80. In Ward 4, Randy Gustine outpaced opponent Michael Collins Riley with 183 votes to Riley's 61 votes.
As for city judge, John Gutcheck was appointed to the seat, following the resignation of Virginia Cook Compton.
Results are also in for Granite County where votes in Deer Lodge re-elected Mayor Mary Ann Fraley. Fraley received 589 votes. Challenger Allen Walters garnered 169 votes.
In Philipsburg, Anne Fillmore earned the most votes in the race for mayor, easily outpacing her opponents. Fillmore received 235 votes. Anthony Marchi got 17 votes. Cyndia Reddish grabbed 127.
Granite County voters turned down a mill levy for a new fire hall with 212 voters casting their ballots against the levy and 187 voting for the levy.
In Jefferson County, Whitehall Mayor Mary Janacaro Hensleigh beat out Terry Ross to secure the seat, receiving 189 votes to Ross' 129.
Voters also approved a mill levy that would raise about $20,000 annually for 10 years to pay debt on the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department's 2009 Pierce Commercial Responder. Unofficial results show 172 votes for the levy and 159 against it.
In Boulder, mayoral write-in candidate Gary Craft received the most votes. Craft earned 203 votes. He was followed by Russel Giulio with 128 and Seth Pallister with 71.
In Walkerville, Mayor Bernard Harrington won re-election with 86 votes. In Ward 1, Annette Bolton had 34 votes. In Ward 2, write-in candidate Tom Carroll got six votes. In Ward 3, Chris Campbell got 38 votes. There were no challenger in any of those races.
In Lima, Ward 1 is reporting preliminary vote tallies. For Lima mayor, David Olsen has received 97 votes to opponent Michael Strang's 15 votes. In the race for an open seat on city council, David Brown has 78 votes. Orban Jackson has 73 votes. Willis Darrell Miller has 48 votes.
