The Montana Air National Guard's transition from F-16 to F-15 fighter jets is nearly complete, but it seems it's been an unwelcome change for some.
The Guard has received complaints in recent months regarding the noise of the aircraft.
Major Rick Anderson tells us the noise level is really no different than the F-16s which previously flew over the skies of Great Falls, but noted that people may just be re-adjusting to having military aircraft overhead.
Anderson explained, "There was a period in time where there was really no flying going on up here. With the conversion from the F-16 to the F-15, we're getting more pilots back from pilot training. More of our F-15s are ready and able to fly and because of that we're getting more sorties generated on a daily basis."
The base has received all 18 of the scheduled F-15 fighter jets.
Anderson notes that there have been up to 12 sorties a day with the new aircraft.
