Butte's Chamber of Commerce and other local development agencies recently welcomed some new business to town.
They did it with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Butte's newest Bingo hall, the Bingo Place at 27 West Galena Street.
The Bingo Place manager Stephanie Gorman shared her feelings about opening in the uptown area.
"Pretty gratifying. People were looking forward to us opening because the last one closed two years ago, so it's been great to make so many people happy about having bingo here," Gorman said.
The Bingo Place is open on weekends only.
Another ribbon cutting ceremony took place just upstairs of the Bingo Place where Bill Metzger was officially thanked for his investment in uptown Butte. He is from the Bozeman area and says his efforts in turning a former Butte-Silver Bow County workshop into seven homes for sale have been well received.
"The chamber and the Butte Development Corp and all that have just bent over backwards to help us, and the people, the people have been real nice. I've built long enough that I like to build a good quality and a nice unit. So I've tried to, you know, something that people would want to live in," Metzger said.
