The race for Yellowstone County Commission is more than a year away, but the race is already taking shape. Monday, Comissioner Jim Reno declared his intentions to run for a third, six-year term.

Candidates must declare they're running for a position with the Montana political practices office before they can begin to raise and spend money on their campaign. Jerry Prouse of Shepherd has also announced his intentions to run for the district two seat on the county commission.

District two includes the Billings Heights, Lockwood , and part of eastern Yellowstone County. The first day candidates can file for office is January 14th.
