Veterans Day will be celebrated Wednesday with events planned throughout Southwest Montana.
- In Butte, services will be held at Stodden Park beginning at 10 a.m. Gov. Brian Schweitzer and Montana's Adjutant General John Walsh are the featured speakers, according to Gail Fish of the United Veteran's Council.
- In Whitehall, the Butte Exchange Club and Whitehall High School will be dedicating a Freedom Shrine at the school in conjunction with the school's traditional Veterans Day assembly. The shrine is made up of a collection of 20 reproductions of historic American documents. Whitehall parents, residents and veterans are invited to attend the assembly at 10 a.m. in the Whitehall Varsity Gym.
- In Anaconda, an honor guard program will take place at the Fred Moodry Middle School at 8:30 a.m. Also a dinner will be held at the Legion Hall at 6 p.m.
