Western Montana marking Veteran's Day

The theme of this year's Veterans Day ceremony at the Missoula County Courthouse lawn is "From the Towns They Loved So Well”.

The wreath-laying ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. when the American Legion Post 101 raises the flag. Lieutenant Governor John Bohlinger, Missoula Mayor John Engen, and Missoula County Commissioner Jean Curtiss will be the speakers at Wednesday’s event.

Following the ceremony, all veterans are invited to attend a lunch of chipped-beef-on-toast at the Old Post Pub.

In Stevensville, an annual Veterans Day Assembly will be held in the High School gymnasium from 1:10 to 2:10 on Tuesday afternoon. The event is open to all who would like to attend.

Meanwhile, Glacier National Park will be offering free admission to veterans, current members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families on Wednesday. The annual fee-free day was established in 2006.
