During Tuesday's board meeting, the issue was brought up that under Montana state law, school held on Saturday cannot legally be held unless it’s an emergency.
MCPS Superintendent Alex Apostle says he has made calls to Helena to talk about this law and trustee Adam Duerk added that education on Saturday is a no-brainer for the 21st century.
A university student also got up in front of trustees on Tuesday to say that Saturday school helped her in high school to get good grades and graduate.
The measure will go back to the Teaching and Learning Committee.
