Deputy hurt in Lolo accident

A Missoula County Sheriff's Department Deputy was taken to the hospital after an early Saturday morning crash in Lolo.

The Deputy was heading southbound on U.S. Highway 93, responding to a call when he crashed into a vehicle turning left in front of him.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the vehicle was driven by an 86-year-old Lolo male. Witnesses said the Deputy he had his lights and sirens on.

The victim was taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula and was examined and released.  

The Montana Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
