Less smoking leads to more birthdays, according to the American Cancer Society.

The Great American Smoke Out will be recognized on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The Cancer Society says set a date to quit or to implement your plan to quit Nov. 19.

Thirty-five-year-old smokers who quit gain an average of eight years of life expectancy. Long term smokers who quit at 65 gain three years of life, according to the Cancer Society.

Smokers who want to quit can call the Montana Tobacco Quit Line at 1-800-QUIT-NOW.

People who use the Montana Tobacco Quit Line are seven to 10 times more likely to quit than those trying to quit on their own.
