An Idaho mining company says there's more gold in the Highlands south of Butte than it first thought.

The mine is taking shape on 50 acres of land about 15 miles south of Butte. The company says initial ore samples exceeded its estimates of 0.3 ounces of gold per ton of ore.

The mine is a 50-50 joint venture with Butte Highlands LLC.  The companies say work on the underground mine is proceeding but no date for full scale operation of the mine has been set.
