A former Missoula man is a Top 3 finalist in "Operation Rising Star", what some call the military's version of American Idol.
U.S. Army Chaplain Donald Williamson was the area director for the Young Life from 2002 to 2007.
He's currently stationed in Germany and competed against Army installations across the world. Williamson is now in Washington, DC as a Top 3 finalist.
"Some installations like Fort Bragg and Fort Hood and Fort Carson had a lot more and number of weeks actually to compete" he explained. "So, there were some larger installations like Fort Bragg had 50 or so. So you know, probably a total of 1,000 competed Army wide."
You still have a chance to vote for Don Williamson. The voting opens tonight ONLY from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mountain Time. Click here to cast your ballot.
You can see if Don wins this Saturday by watching Operation Rising Star on the Pentagon channel. Check your local listing.
