Thanksgiving week is the busiest travel week of the year, but despite that fact, gas prices are falling. Prices across the country dropped more than three cents a gallon to about $2.65 over the weekend.
Here in Montana, prices on average are a penny less at $2.64 a gallon, which is still about 7 -cents higher than pump prices from a year ago.
The highest price in Montana is in Plentywood at $2.84 a gallon while the cheapest gas can be found in Helena at $2.42.
Prices in Wyoming average $ 2.49 a gallon, and Wheatland, Wyoming reports the lowest price in the nation at $2.24 a gallon.
The website gasbuddy.com expects prices will climb between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
