The public is invited to two Thanksgiving dinners in Butte.
The Butte Rescue Mission's annual community Thanksgiving Dinner will take place Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Butte Depot on South Arizona Street.
Last year, around 2,200 people gathered to enjoy the holiday meal. Interim Executive Director of the Mission Rachel Freeman says they are expecting more people this year and are preparing to dish up around 2,500 meals.
Organizers say the dinner is a way of saying thank you to the community.
The mission is accepting food donations for the gathering and welcomes those who would like to volunteer.

A new soup kitchen in the Mining City will host its first Thanksgiving Day meal on Thursday.
Volunteers at the Shepherd's Fold Soup Kitchen at Saint John Episcopal Church located on the corner of Broadway and Idaho streets are gearing up for the big day.
"We'll start with a devotional at noon then start serving shortly after, and the band will be playing off and on all day long. It's open to anyone who wants to come, just don't want to be alone on Thanksgiving or just don't want to cook a dinner on Thanksgiving. I know how that can be," Shepherd's Disciples band member Bob Lampe said.
"We're going to have a great time. We are serving 50 to 60 people every Thursday for the last 10 to 12 weeks," Shepherd's Fold Pastor Dallas Doyle said.
The gathering at the soup kitchen will be held Thanksgiving Day starting at noon.
Food donations are needed, especially potatoes and stuffing.
