A 16-year old Kalispell boy is recovering after officers say he stole three cars, led them on a pursuit and then jumped off a bridge.
Kalispell police officers say the boy's parents called to say he took their car and drove off, but he apparently ran out of gas around Chester, which is between Shelby and Havre.
Officers say he then took a maroon Mustang and drove back to the Flathead.
Drivers called him in for spinning brodies in Columbia Falls around 4:30 Thursday morning. When officers caught up to him, he took off and hit the Flathead River Bridge at Columbia Falls.
Montana Highway Patrol officers say because of foggy conditions, a Columbia Falls police officer rear-ended a sheriff's vehicle as they tried to turn around to reach the wrecked Mustang.
Officers say the suspect then jumped off the bridge to run away. The teenager later turned up in Kalispell with another vehicle he's accused of stealing.
The teen was taken to the hospital with injuries from jumping off the bridge.
