Long lines could be seen all around Bozeman from Main Street to the campus of Montana State University as tickets for Elton John's upcoming performance in Bozeman officially went on sale on Wednesday.
The lines were already formed at Cactus Records downtown well before the doors opened and fans were also out in large numbers at MSU to try and get a ticket before they quickly sold out.
Close to 8,500 tickets were sold in less than two hours for the September 29th performance and despite the overnight rain and cooler temperatures some fans we talked to say it is all worth it to see the musical legend.
Dana Doney: "We got here around 8:15 yesterday morning and we had a large family group that was taking shifts and spent the night. The worse weather was yesterday afternoon, when we had some windy rain come in. But it was actually pretty nice most of the time and we got our tickets."
Don Lint: "Actually, we went and saw him about a year ago when the Rolling Stones were over in Missoula and we tried to get tickets to that, but we couldn't get them, so we ended up going down to see Elton down in Las Vegas and when he was coming to Bozeman. We get to see him."
As of 11:40 a.m. Wednesday the venues that were selling Elton John tickets were completely sold out.

There's some good news for fans of Elton John. While it was announced Monday that Missoula would welcome the superstar in September, Bozeman is being added to his list of tour dates.
Sir Elton will play one night on September 29th at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University.
You can purchase tickets staring September 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the fieldhouse box office as well as at all Tickets West outlets. There's no word yet on how much tickets to the show will cost.
