Community members gathered in the Garden City for some country fair activities as the Missoula Community Co-op held its grand opening.
The goal of the Co-op on Burns Street is to provide affordable access to local and healthy food. It was originally started in a living room, and now it's progressed to its own store.
The Missoula Community Co-op opened back in December, but members wanted to wait for the nice weather to have their "official" grand opening.
Friends and family enjoyed activities including a cake walk, and planting wildflower seeds on Saturday and the Board of Directors Co-chair says it's all about people working together for their common benefit together for their common benefit around healthy food.
"So, one of our main goals is to provide access to healthy food, local whenever possible, for people of all income leaves so you don't necessarily have to have a lot of money to eat healthy" explains Merideth Printz.
