Wolf hunting season is on hold.
Montana, Idaho and Wyoming are halting plans to establish wolf hunting seasons after a federal judge ordered gray wolves in the Northern Rockies to be returned to the endangered species list earlier this month.
Montana was close to approving its wolf-hunting rules, but a spokesman for the state's game agency said the state will put them aside for now.
Since the ruling, Idaho and Wyoming are also putting on hold their plans to establish wolf-hunting seasons this fall.
