Yellowstone National Park recently announced plans to bring cellular service to the area, but Glacier says that they have no plans to follow suit.

Yellowstone says that the purpose of implementing the wireless technology is to balance visitor demands for the connectivity people have come to expect in daily life. There is currently a public comment period that runs through October 31st, where people can discuss the pros and cons of wireless at Yellowstone.

However, spokesmen for Glacier say that they have received no requests to go wireless and have no intention of doing so.

"Glacier is 93% wilderness and because of the terrain, topography and resource issues, that is not something that we anticipate addressing," said Glacier National Park's spokesman, Amy Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt also said that Yellowstone is nearly twice as big as Glacier and has very different needs as a result of it's size.
