MSU d-end cleared to play

Associated Press - November 6, 2009 5:24 PM ET

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Montana State defensive end Dane Fletcher returned to practice this week less than two weeks after being diagnosed with mononucleosis.

Bobcat coach Rob Ash says it will be a game-time decision on whether Fletcher plays Saturday against Portland State.

The senior from Bozeman was cleared medically to practice on Wednesday.

But Ash said the team will be closely monitoring Fletcher to make sure he is not being rushed back.

In addition, he says it will probably take a while for him to get his conditioning back.
