AMBER ALERT issued for missing 3-year-old Evergreen boy

Updated:

Authorities in the Flathead say that they are treating the case of a missing 3-year-old boy as a kidnapping.

An Amber Alert is in affect, and the Child is Missing phone system has also been notified after Loic Rogers disappeared Wednesday night.

Loic Rogers has blonde hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a red, white and blue jacket, a green knit hat and tan winter boots. We're also told that he has a scar on his chin.

Montana News Station's Trisha Hendricks was out on the search Wednesday night, and spoke with Loic's parents.

Hundreds of people are searching from house-to-house, and yard-to -yard, looking for footprints that could resemble the 3-year-old's boots.

Loic Rogers disappeared at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, when his father says that he was loading the children into the car to leave a friends house.

After searching for about 20 minutes, he called for help. If someone did take off with his son, he has a message for them.

"I would just hope that he would just turn him over to somebody, go to a convenience store, tell them to call the police, take him somewhere and just give him up, because he needs to be back with his dad and mom."

Neighbors have searched just about every driveway, dead-end, and corner surrounding the property where he was last seen on Maple Drive.

At a Thursday morning news conference police said that the parents are divorced, and that they are NOT suspected in having any involvment in the incident. Also, there were reports of a salesman in the area when the abduction occurred, but police say he has been cleared of any involvment.

Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan says that they are using search equipment, including three thermal imagers to detect any kind of heat including body heat. But, so far there is still no sign of Loic.

"This is a very big deal. We're very concerned about it, because of the extreme temperatures, so we're doing everything we possibly can and we're going to continue to search."

Most neighbors were notified by a recording sent out to nearby phone numbers, and the community members say that they are on a mission as they have come together to search.

Loic's nickname is "Tank."  If you see Loic, or have any information about where he may be, please contact the Flathead County Sheriff's Office at 758-5874.
