Seventh and eighth graders at Riverside Middle School were filling the bucket in Billings Tuesday.
It's all part of a Big Brothers-Big Sisters fundraising drive at schools across Billings and Laurel.
So far at Riverside the eighth graders have filled the bucket with $93 just in bills. That's not counting all the change weighing down the bucket.
Volunteer Katie McLaughlin says it gives the kids a chance to know why Big Brothers and Big Sisters is in the schools.
"The kids see the value in having a mentor that they can have a new friend but also someone that's there for them if maybe their life is not as easy." says McLaughlin. "If they're struggling in school, or they get picked on by other kids, they know that they can have a mentor that can help them out."
McLaughlin tells us the fundraising drive is a part of Oprah's Big Give. The deadline for that campaign is this Thursday.
