GREAT FALLS - One person was taken to Benefis hospital after a two-vehicle accident just outside Great Falls on Monday.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 11:15 a.m. near mile marker 282 on I-15.
The Montana Highway Patrol tells us a black car was northbound on I-15 when the driver became inattentive, drove onto the rumble strips to the right, and then overcorrected.
The car then crossed over the median into the southbound lane colliding with an SUV.
Officials with Vaughn Fire Department say extrication was needed for at least one person due to the impact of the crash.
Crews from MT ANG also responded to the scene to assist with extrication.
MHP trooper Danny Sons noted, "One occupant in the SUV and three occupants in the car. Everyone was buckled in. Airbags deployed in the car but not in the SUV."
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the car was cited for careless driving.
