A man who pled guilty to sexual intercourse without consent and sex abuse of children was given a 60 year sentence in state prison.
"The court finds that the defendant's character and attitude and mitigating his own responsibility indicate that he's likely to commit another crime and is not likely to respond quickly to correctional or rehabilitative treatment," District Court Judge Mike Salvagni, said. "The victim's life has been changed forever and now the defendant must face the consequences."
Robert Sapien pled guilty to the charges in July.
The incident was brought to the attention of authorities when a former resident of the home reported that Sapien had told him he was involved in a sexual relationship with the girl.
Sapien is also accused of videotaping the girl having sex with one of his friends.
