Under a strong high pressure ridge weather pattern air quality concerns will worsen this week throughout western Montana.
The air quality for Butte was rated "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" this afternoon. The Department of Environmental Quality graphic shows air quality worsened between 8am and noon today and slowly improving to good status by 2pm.
A stagnant atmosphere will persist through this week and air quality conditions will continue to fluctuate as well.
Air quality ratings were "Unhealthy" today for Hamilton and Seeley Lake and "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" for Missoula and Butte this afternoon. Good ratings were reported for West Yellowstone, Bozeman and Helena.
