An Anaconda man has pleaded not guilty to four felony charges in Dawson County.

William Schmidt, 41, appeared in Dawson County District Court last Thursday.

He faces two felony counts of assault with a weapon and two felony counts of criminal endangerment.

On Nov. 19, Schmidt is accused of pulling a firearm on an Anaconda resident, stealing a firearm and pick-up truck then fleeing to Dawson County. He was discovered by two game wardens at Makoshika State Park where he reportedly held one warden at gunpoint.

Schmidt must go through the court process in Dawson County before being transported back to Deer Lodge County for charges he faces there.

He has an omnibus hearing in Dawson County on Jan. 8 at 10 a.m.
